If you made a donation outside the platform (for example, directly to a charity’s website or through an event), you can record it on the platform as a DIY donation. This allows your company to review it and, if eligible, apply donation matching so your impact is recognised and included in your giving summary.
Step 1. Go to your personal summary
1. Expand the left-hand navigation bar.
2. Select Personal summary.
3. Scroll down to the My donations section.
4. On the right-hand side, click the Log donation button.
This will open a pop-up modal where you can record your external donation.
Step 2. Complete the donation details
1. Select payment method: Choose DIY donation as your payment type.
2. Search for the charity: Type the name of the charity you donated to.
- If you cannot find the charity, email your donation receipt to support@catalyser.com for assistance.
3. Select a giving activity (optional): If your donation is linked to a company giving activity on the platform, you can select it from the list.
If the activity is a fundraiser, you may also choose to support a specific individual or team.
4. Enter donation details:
- Donation amount (e.g., 50.00 AUD)
- Donation date (the date the donation was made externally)
5. Upload your donation receipt:
- Click Upload receipt to attach your proof of donation.
- File requirements:
- Maximum size: 5MB
- Supported formats: JPEG, PDF, PNG
6. Once all details are entered, click Save to submit your donation.
Step 3. After submission
- Your DIY donation will appear in your My donations table under the Requests tab.
- The request status of your DIY donation will be in PENDING status until it reviewed by your company.
- If your donation is eligible for matching, it will update with the matched amount.
Company reviews DIY donation
Once you submit your DIY donation:
- Your company will review your DIY donation.
- They will then approve or reject your donation based on the information you have provided. Once approved, your DIY donation’s request status will update to PAID in your giving summary.
- Matching decisions are made by your company based on their internal matching rules. For example, you will see matching automatically allocated to your DIY donation if your company has set up a rule that it qualifies for.
Important
- DIY donations are intended to recognise external giving and ensure your contribution counts toward your personal and company impact totals.
- Ensure your receipt clearly shows the charity name, date, and amount donated.
- Matching is subject to your company’s eligibility rules and approval.
