Volunteering events can be created by company admins, and in some cases by employees who have been granted permission by their admin team. These events can support either registered charities or other organisations.
What is a registered charity?
Registered charities are verified organisations on the platform.
Verification is carried out through various registries, such as the ACNC in Australia, and through organisations like The Intelligent Foundation.
This process ensures charities are legitimate and trustworthy.
What are other organisations?
Other organisations refers to volunteering efforts for organisations or individuals that are not a formally registered charity. When added, the recipient is called a beneficiary.
Other organisations can include:
- Smaller organisations – those not yet formally registered as a charity.
- Direct support for individuals – such as assisting an elderly community member, or another individual in need.
Important: We cannot verify the legitimacy of beneficiaries.
As the event creator, whether you are an admin or an employee with permission, you are responsible for ensuring the credibility of these beneficiaries.
